You can take a look at some other CRT Shader projects here which focus on accuracy more than anything else and you'll see that they all would look pretty dark in regular screenshots and they recommend users set their brightness to be as high as possible. At least in mine I have sought to strike a balance. The most accurate CRT Shaders available today require as much brightness as possible in order to work properly. I would love to have a Gameboy border for Pokemon Silver with the GBA color pallette. Unfortunately, when mGBA is in SGB mode, it also renders the game in GBC colours (the night pallete is green instead of dark blue) instead of GBA. I am re-visiting Pokémon Silver alongside some friends and I even got to set up mGBA with SGB borders.
